PART 2 · SAMPLE ANSWER
If I have to talk about a change that helps me save a lot of time, I would definitely like to tell you about planning my day the night before.
Personally, I think it’s such a useful habit because it helps me avoid wasting time deciding what to do next.
I started doing this about a year ago when I became much busier with schoolwork, extra classes and exam preparation. Every evening before going to bed, I spend about five minutes writing down three or four important things I need to do the next day.
At first, I thought making a daily plan would take more time, but it turned out to save me a lot of time. Before that, I often jumped from one task to another, and sometimes I spent half an hour scrolling through my phone because I wasn’t sure what to study first.
So I started to set priorities. I normally do the hardest task first and leave easier things until later. I also set a time limit for each task so that I don’t spend too long on one thing.
To be honest, it wasn’t very difficult. The hardest part was following my plan without getting distracted by my phone. However, after a few weeks, it became part of my daily routine.
Now I feel much more relaxed and in control of my time. I also have more free time in the evening, so I can relax without feeling guilty.

Discussion Questions
6 câu hỏi
1
What can schools do to help students learn time management?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, I’m not really sure, but I guess schools could start by teaching students how to set priorities. A lot of students have tons of homework, but they don’t always know which task they should do first, so they sometimes waste time on less important things. For example, a teacher could ask students to make a weekly study plan before an exam and decide which subjects need more attention. I think that would be more useful than simply telling students to study harder.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
2
Is it necessary for children to learn time management?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Yeah, I would say so, especially as they get older. When children are very young, their parents probably arrange most things for them, but teenagers have homework, extra classes and hobbies to balance. If they don’t manage their time well, they may leave everything until the last minute and become stressed. For example, some of my classmates only start revising the night before a test, and then they have to stay up really late. So I think it’s a useful skill to learn early.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
leave everything until the last minuteđể mọi việc đến phút cuối
3
Do people who manage their time well become successful more easily?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Hmm, I think it helps, but I wouldn’t say it automatically leads to success. Someone who manages their time well can probably get more things done and meet deadlines without being under too much pressure. But they still need ability and motivation. For example, a student can have a perfect study schedule, but if they spend the whole study session looking at their phone, it won’t make much difference. So I’d say time management gives people an advantage, rather than guarantees success.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
lead to successdẫn đến thành công
meet deadlineshoàn thành đúng hạn
give someone an advantagetạo lợi thế cho ai
4
Should parents teach children how to save time?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, probably, but I don’t think they should control everything. Parents can help children develop good habits, like preparing their school bag the night before or doing homework before playing games. But as children get older, parents should probably give them more responsibility. Otherwise, they may always depend on their parents to organize everything for them.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
develop good habitshình thành thói quen tốt
5
Does technology help people save time?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Oh, definitely, although it can work both ways. Technology lets us shop online, pay bills and find information in seconds, so we don’t have to travel somewhere every time we need something. For example, my parents can transfer money on their phones instead of going to a bank and waiting in line. Having said that, technology can also eat up a lot of time if we spend hours scrolling through social media. So I think it depends on how we use it.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
work both wayscó tác động theo cả hai hướng
eat up a lot of timengốn rất nhiều thời gian
wait in linexếp hàng chờ
6
What can people do to save time?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Let me think… I guess planning ahead is probably one of the easiest ways. People can make a short to-do list and finish the important things first instead of doing whatever comes to mind. It also helps to cut down on distractions, especially phones. For me, even putting my phone in another room when I’m studying can save me quite a lot of time because I’m not checking it every five minutes.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
plan aheadlên kế hoạch trước
cut down on distractionsgiảm những thứ gây xao nhãng
whatever comes to mindbất cứ việc gì chợt nghĩ đến
