PART 2 · SAMPLE ANSWER
If I have to talk about a crowded place I’ve been to, I would definitely like to tell you about a night market I visited during a holiday.
Personally, I think it was such an interesting place because there was so much happening at the same time, although it was also slightly overwhelming.
I went there with my family last summer while we were travelling.
We arrived at around seven in the evening, and the place was already packed with people.
There were food stalls, clothing shops, souvenir stands and music coming from different directions.
At first, I was really excited because the atmosphere was lively and there were lots of things to see.
However, after about twenty minutes, I started finding the crowd a little stressful.
We had to squeeze through the crowd, and I was constantly checking that I hadn’t lost sight of my family.
At one point, my younger cousin disappeared behind a group of people for a few seconds, and everyone immediately panicked.
Luckily, we found him almost straight away.
After that, we stayed closer together and eventually found a quieter area to eat.
I enjoyed the experience because it was lively and memorable, but I don’t think I’d want to spend several hours in such a crowded place.
I realised that I enjoy busy places in small doses, but after a while I really need some breathing space.

Mình thích trải nghiệm đó vì nó sôi động và đáng nhớ, nhưng mình không nghĩ mình muốn dành vài tiếng ở một nơi đông như vậy.
Mình nhận ra mình thích những nơi nhộn nhịp trong thời gian ngắn, nhưng sau một lúc thực sự cần có chút không gian thoải mái.

Will more people live in big cities in the future?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Probably, because cities usually offer more jobs, universities and services. But I think some people may also move away from city centres if remote work becomes more common. Living costs in major cities can be extremely high, so not everyone will want to stay. So urban populations may continue growing, but people may spread into surrounding areas rather than all living in the centre.

Why do some people enjoy crowded places?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Maybe because crowds create energy. At a concert, festival or sports match, being surrounded by lots of excited people can add to the atmosphere. Some people also enjoy meeting others and don’t mind noise. Personally, though, I enjoy crowds only when there’s a clear reason, like an event. I wouldn’t choose a crowded supermarket just for fun.

Why do people go to crowded places?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Usually because those places offer something they want. Shopping centres, markets, festivals and tourist attractions become crowded because many people are interested in them. Sometimes people simply don’t have much choice, especially during rush hour on public transport. So a crowded place isn’t always somewhere people actively want to be.

Will bicycles become more popular in cities?
SAMPLE ANSWER
I think they could, especially if cities build safer cycling lanes. Bicycles are cheap, don’t create pollution and can be faster than cars for short journeys. But in places with dangerous traffic or very hot weather, people may still avoid cycling. So infrastructure probably makes a huge difference. If cycling feels safe and convenient, more people are likely to do it.

Will cities have more green spaces in the future?
SAMPLE ANSWER
I hope so, but I’m not completely sure because land in cities is extremely valuable. Developers may prefer using land for apartments or businesses because they can make money from it. However, governments are becoming more aware that green spaces improve health and quality of life. So cities may need to protect existing green areas instead of assuming they can create new ones later.

What problems are caused by overcrowded cities?
SAMPLE ANSWER
There are quite a few. Traffic congestion, pollution, high housing costs and pressure on public services can all become worse when too many people live in one area. For example, even if a city builds a good hospital, it may struggle if the population grows much faster than expected. Overcrowding can also reduce people’s quality of life because commuting takes longer and public spaces become more stressful.
