If I have to talk about a time I worked in a group, I would definitely like to tell you about a school presentation I did with three classmates.
Personally, I think it was such a useful experience because it taught me that group work can be effective, but only when everyone communicates properly.
It happened last year in one of our classes.
Our teacher asked us to prepare a presentation, so the four of us divided the work between us.
At first, everything seemed easy. One person collected information, another designed the slides, and two of us prepared the speaking part.
The problem started a few days later when one group member hadn’t completed his section.
At first, I was quite annoyed because I thought he simply wasn’t taking the project seriously.
But when we spoke to him, it turned out that he didn’t really understand what he was supposed to do.
So instead of arguing, we went over the task together and gave him a clearer example.
After that, he finished his part quite quickly.
The presentation eventually went well, and our teacher gave us positive feedback.
I think working in a group made sense because we could divide the workload and use different people’s strengths.
The experience also taught me that sometimes a problem is caused by poor communication rather than laziness.

What makes someone a good leader?
SAMPLE ANSWER
For me, a good leader needs to communicate clearly and listen to other people. Leadership isn’t just giving orders; it’s also understanding what different team members are good at. For example, if someone is nervous about presenting but excellent at research, a good leader may give them a role that plays to their strengths. Leaders also need to take responsibility when things go wrong rather than blaming everyone else.

What are the advantages of teamwork at school?

What kinds of tasks are suitable for groups?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Tasks that involve different skills or several stages are usually good for groups. Projects, presentations and problem-solving activities can benefit from different ideas. But very simple tasks may become slower if five people have to discuss every tiny decision. So group work makes most sense when collaboration adds real value.

Should children learn how to work in groups?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Definitely, because they’ll need teamwork later in university and work. Children need to learn how to listen, disagree politely and share responsibility. These skills aren’t always automatic. For example, some children either dominate the whole task or stay silent, so group activities can teach them how to find a balance between leading and cooperating.

How should a leader behave?

I think a leader should be clear but not controlling. They need to make decisions when necessary, but they should also be willing to change their mind if someone has a better idea. Why do some people prefer working alone?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Some people concentrate better alone and like having full control over the way they work. Group work can be frustrating if people have different standards or work at very different speeds. For example, someone who likes finishing tasks early may feel stressed working with a person who always waits until the last minute. So individual work can feel more predictable and efficient for certain personalities.
