POLITENESS

Well, my parents taught me to say please and thank you and greet adults properly. I was also told not to cut people off when they were speaking. They were simple things, but they helped me develop good manners.

I think we should be polite pretty much all the time, not just on special occasions. It’s especially important when we talk to older people, meet someone for the first time or ask someone for help. Good manners can make a good impression.

Yeah, definitely. I think politeness shows that you respect other people, and it can make everyday communication much easier. You don’t have to go out of your way to be polite; sometimes a simple thank-you is enough.

Mostly from my parents. They always reminded me to greet people, say thank you and apologise when I did something wrong. I also picked up a lot of these habits by watching how adults behaved.
