If I have to talk about a live sports event I enjoyed watching, I would definitely like to tell you about a football match I attended with my family.
Personally, I think it was such an exciting experience because watching a match in a stadium felt completely different from watching it on television.
It happened a couple of years ago.
One of my relatives managed to get tickets, so several members of my family went together.
Before the match, I was already excited because there were fans everywhere wearing team colours and taking photos.
At first, I worried that our seats might be too far away to see properly.
But when the game started, I realised the atmosphere mattered much more than having a perfect view.
Every time our team created a good chance, the whole crowd rose to their feet and shouted.
At one point, our team scored near the end of the match and everyone around us went completely crazy.
I normally don’t shout much when watching sports at home, but that day I got completely caught up in the atmosphere.
Even after the match ended, people were still talking excitedly on the way home.
I really enjoyed it because it felt like everyone in the stadium was sharing the same emotion.

Bình thường mình không hét nhiều khi xem thể thao ở nhà, nhưng hôm đó mình hoàn toàn bị cuốn theo không khí.
Ngay cả sau khi trận đấu kết thúc, mọi người vẫn nói chuyện rất hào hứng trên đường về.
Mình rất thích vì cảm giác như tất cả mọi người trong sân vận động đang chia sẻ cùng một cảm xúc.

What sports are popular in your country?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Football is probably the biggest one in terms of spectators, especially when the national team plays. Badminton, running and swimming are also popular as activities people actually do. I think some sports become more popular when national athletes achieve impressive results internationally. Success gives people someone to support and can inspire children to try the sport themselves.

For serious fans, watching their favourite team or athlete live may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The trip also combines sport with tourism, so they can visit a new country at the same time. Of course, it can be very expensive, especially for major tournaments. But some fans are willing to spend a lot for the experience because they may remember it for years.

What sports matches are suitable for children to watch?

I think most sports can be suitable if the environment is safe. Matches with a positive atmosphere can help children become interested in exercise and teamwork. But events where fans become aggressive or use offensive language might not be ideal for young children. Parents should probably consider the crowd and the length of the event as well as the sport itself.

What are the advantages of watching sports online?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Convenience is the biggest advantage. People can watch matches from other countries without travelling and can sometimes replay important moments. Online platforms also allow fans to watch less popular sports that may not appear on normal television. The downside is that watching alone on a phone doesn’t create the same atmosphere as being in a stadium.

Where do people usually watch sports?
SAMPLE ANSWER

Serious fans may prefer stadiums because they want the full experience. Personally, I’d choose home for normal games but a stadium for an important match if I could get a ticket.

I think uncertainty is a big part of it. Even if one team is stronger, nobody knows exactly what will happen, which creates excitement. People also enjoy supporting a team because it gives them a sense of belonging. Watching with friends or family can become a social activity, so sometimes the experience matters as much as the sport itself.
