Describe a person you know who is very organised.
IELTS SPEAKING PART 2
Describe a person you know who is very organised.
You should say:
- Who this person is
- What they do to stay organised
- When you noticed this quality
- And explain why being organised is important to them
PART 2 · SAMPLE ANSWER
If I have to talk about someone I know who is very organised, I would definitely like to tell you about one of my classmates.
Personally, I think she’s such an organised person because she always seems to know exactly what she needs to do and when she needs to do it.
I’ve studied with her for a few years, but I really noticed this quality when we worked on a group project together last year.
While the rest of us were discussing random ideas, she immediately made a list of the tasks, divided them between us and set a deadline for each one.
At first, I thought she was being a little too serious because we still had several weeks before the presentation.
But it turned out that her planning saved us a lot of stress later. A few days before the deadline, another group in our class was still rushing to finish everything, while we’d already completed most of our work.
In her daily life, she also uses a planner and keeps track of homework, exams and appointments.
What surprises me is that she doesn’t seem stressed by all this planning. In fact, I think being organised actually helps her feel calmer because she doesn’t have to remember everything in her head.
I really admire this quality because I’m sometimes the opposite and leave things until the last minute.
Being around her has actually encouraged me to become a little more organised myself.

Discussion Questions
6 câu hỏi
1
Do managers need to be organised?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Yeah, definitely, because they’re usually responsible for both their own work and other people’s work. If a manager forgets deadlines or gives unclear instructions, the whole team can fall behind schedule. For example, even if employees do their jobs well, a project may still fail if nobody coordinates the different tasks. So organisation is probably one of the basic skills a manager needs.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
2
How can parents teach children to be organised?
SAMPLE ANSWER
I think they should start with small everyday habits rather than giving children complicated schedules. For example, children can learn to prepare their school bag the night before, put things back where they belong and finish tasks before moving on to something else. Parents can remind them at first, but gradually they should let the child take more responsibility. Otherwise, the parent may end up organising everything for them.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
put things back where they belongcất đồ về đúng chỗ
finish tasks before moving onhoàn thành việc trước khi chuyển sang việc khác
take more responsibilitychịu nhiều trách nhiệm hơn
3
Can people become more organised, or is it part of their personality?
SAMPLE ANSWER
I think people can definitely improve. Some people may naturally prefer routines and lists, but organisation is also made up of habits that can be learned. For example, someone who often forgets homework could start using a calendar or setting reminders on their phone. They probably won’t become perfectly organised overnight, but small systems can make everyday life easier to manage.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
be made up of habitsđược hình thành từ các thói quen
set remindersđặt lời nhắc
make everyday life easier to managekhiến cuộc sống hàng ngày dễ quản lý hơn
4
Are organised people more likely to be successful?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Hmm, I think being organised helps, but I wouldn’t say it guarantees success. Organised people may use their time more efficiently and miss fewer deadlines, which obviously gives them an advantage. But someone can have an amazing planner and still not work very hard. For example, a student can create a perfect revision timetable, but if they don’t actually follow it, it won’t improve their grades. So organisation needs to be combined with effort.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
use your time more efficientlysử dụng thời gian hiệu quả hơn
miss fewer deadlinesít trễ hạn hơn
be combined with effortcần kết hợp với nỗ lực
5
Should children learn to be organised from a young age?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Yeah, I think so, but it should stay quite simple. A young child doesn’t need a detailed timetable for every hour of the day. They can start by keeping their room reasonably tidy, remembering school things and building simple routines. If those habits become natural early on, they may be easier to maintain when school becomes more demanding later.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
build simple routineshình thành những thói quen đơn giản
become naturaltrở thành điều tự nhiên
school becomes more demandingviệc học trở nên nặng hơn
6
Why is organisation important?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, I think the biggest benefit is that it reduces unnecessary stress. When people know what they need to do and where their things are, they don’t waste as much time searching or worrying. It also makes it easier to handle several responsibilities at the same time. For students, that could mean balancing homework, exams, hobbies and family time without feeling completely overwhelmed.
USEFUL VOCABULARY
reduce unnecessary stressgiảm căng thẳng không cần thiết
handle several responsibilitiesxử lý nhiều trách nhiệm
feel completely overwhelmedcảm thấy hoàn toàn quá tải
