If I have to talk about someone who really likes taking photos, I would definitely like to tell you about one of my cousins.
Personally, I think she’s such a creative person because she can make even an ordinary place look interesting in a photo.
I’ve known her all my life, of course, but I first noticed her interest in photography a few years ago when we went on a family trip together.
While everyone else was just walking around, she kept stopping to take photos of buildings, food, trees and even small details like shadows on the ground.
At first, I thought it was a bit annoying because we constantly had to wait for her.
But later that evening, she showed us the photos she’d taken, and I was really surprised. Some places that had seemed completely normal in real life looked beautiful in her pictures.
She mostly takes photos when she travels, but she also enjoys capturing everyday moments around her neighbourhood.
What I like is that she doesn’t just take hundreds of random photos. She usually thinks about the light, the background and the angle first.
I think photography helps her notice things other people might miss, and I really admire that.
Now, whenever we travel together, I don’t mind waiting because I know she’ll probably come away with some amazing photos.

Điều mình thích là chị không chỉ chụp hàng trăm bức ảnh ngẫu nhiên. Chị thường suy nghĩ trước về ánh sáng, phông nền và góc chụp.
Mình nghĩ nhiếp ảnh giúp chị nhận ra những điều người khác có thể bỏ qua và mình rất ngưỡng mộ điều đó.
Bây giờ mỗi khi đi du lịch cùng nhau, mình không còn ngại chờ nữa vì biết chị có thể sẽ mang về những bức ảnh tuyệt vời.

On what occasions do people usually take photos?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Well, probably when something feels special or worth remembering, like birthdays, holidays, graduations or family trips. People want to keep a record of those moments so they can look back on them later. But nowadays people also photograph very ordinary things, like food or a nice sunset, because phones make it so easy. Personally, I think people take far more photos now than they did in the past.

What should people do if someone walks into their photo?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Honestly, I don’t think it’s usually a big deal. If you’re taking a photo in a crowded public place, you can’t really expect everyone to move out of the way. You could wait a few seconds or simply take another picture. But if someone deliberately keeps getting in the way, then I suppose you could politely ask them to move.

Are there any disadvantages to taking photos all the time while travelling?
SAMPLE ANSWER
Yeah, I think there can be. If someone is constantly trying to get the perfect photo, they may forget to enjoy the actual experience. I’ve seen people spend ten minutes taking pictures of food while everyone else is waiting to eat. Photos are great for memories, but I think sometimes it’s better to put the phone away and simply look around. Otherwise, people may remember the pictures more than the trip itself.

Is it acceptable to take photos everywhere?
SAMPLE ANSWER
No, definitely not. Some places have privacy or safety concerns, and people should respect the rules. For example, hospitals, religious places or certain museums may restrict photography. Also, even in a public place, I don’t think it’s polite to take a close-up photo of a stranger without asking. So having a camera doesn’t mean people should use it everywhere.

What kinds of photos do people like taking?

It varies a lot, but photos of friends, family, food and travel seem really common. Some people also enjoy taking pictures of nature because landscapes can look impressive in photos. Teenagers may take more selfies because they use social media a lot. Personally, I take more pictures of places than myself because I like remembering where I’ve been.

Why are some people so interested in photography?
SAMPLE ANSWER
I guess photography gives people a way to express how they see the world. Two people can stand in exactly the same place but take completely different photos because they notice different things. Some people may also enjoy sharing their work and getting feedback online. And for others, it’s simply a relaxing hobby that encourages them to slow down and look more carefully at their surroundings.
